Momentum Southwest Land Rover is proud to be a GOLD SPONSOR of this years Man & Woman of the Year event. Each year, in communities across the country, dynamic, passionate candidates engage in a spirited ten-week fundraising competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Man & Woman of the Year" titles, by raising funds for blood cancer research. Our exciting 2012 campaign will start with a kick-ff event at Saks Fifth Avenue  in late March. The fundraising competition will culminate with a Grand Finale Gala at River Oaks Country Club which will include a celebratory dinner, drinks, entertainment, and a fabulous auction.

The Candidates
The ideal candidates are community and business leaders who are philanthropic, ambitious, socially active, resourceful and passionate about making a difference in the lives of patients and families suffering from blood cancers. Their unstoppable ambition drives them to fundraise in a very large-scale capacity with record-breaking results.

History
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man & Woman of the Year campaign began in 1990 in San Francisco to honor John Spencer, a valued employee at Hastings Clothier in San Francisco and a Society volunteer. Spencer died of leukemia at the age of 39. It was in John's memory that Hastings began supporting the Society's Northern California Chapter with the San Francisco Man & Woman of the Year event. Now, more than 40 Man & Woman of the Year campaigns occur across the nation, making this a highly visible fundraising program.

The Reason
Although someone new is diagnosed with a blood cancer every four minutes, there is great hope for the future. LLS is the world's largest national voluntary health organization dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improving the quality of life of patients and families.

  Momentum Land Rover Southwest returns as a very proud sponsor of The Spirit of Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show is The CAC's  largest fundraising event each year. This premier Houston luncheon has grown to be one of the most highly anticipated events to attend every spring. The Spirit of Spring Luncheon includes a reception, auction, keynote speaker and showcases an incredible runway of spring fashions, all while helping to raise funds that directly support programs that The CAC offers to child victims of abuse. The 13th Annual Spirit of Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show, Beautiful Journeys is set for April 4, 2012 at the InterContinental Hotel. This year's fashion show partner is Neiman Marcus and we look forward to a stunning runway of fashions Spring Forecast by Ken Downing, Fashion and Creative Director from Neimans! December 3, 2011 - Momentum Land Rover sponsored Taft McWhorter  2011 Collectors Night held at the private home of Chef David Cordua  of America's Restaurant . Guest were not only dazzled by Taft's beautiful artwork on display throughout the home, but heads also took double takes at the sight of the All-New Range Rover Evoque that was on display throughout the entire event. Proceeds from the artwork that was purchased that evening went to Momentum's choice of SNAP, plus other local charities involved.

October 21, 2011 -  Momentum Land Rover launched the all new Evoque like no other. Over 300 guest partied the night away with food from Flemings River Oaks , Benjy's , drinks from Belvedere and Moet, scrumptious goodies by Nothing Bundt Cakes  and more. DivisiStrings  made beautiful music inside near the champagne bar while Don Vaughn/DJ LG lite up the cigar lounge outside. For the ladies were popup stores like Sloan/Hall , Duo and Edward Sanchez Cosmetics . As with all of Momentum Land Rover's events we always support a local charity, for which Recycled Poms  was the benefactor this evening. However with everything that was going on, the star of the night was the Evoque with a beautiful 5 door Pure standing center stage.
