We knew the 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport was stylish and capable, but we didn't know it was able to challenge its own status quo.

According to a press release distributed by Jaguar Land Rover, semi-autonomous technology helped the Land Rover Discovery Sport pull a 108-ton train. Yes, really. In fact, "Land Rover stopped people in their tracks today as the Discovery Sport SUV towed three luxury train carriages weighing 108 [tons] along a railway track in a demonstration of towing capability. The 10km journey through the Rhine region of northern Switzerland put the compact Discovery Sport's pulling power to the ultimate test. Though the Discovery Sport has a certified maximum towing weight of 2,500kg (2.5 [tons]), it was able to pull 60 times its own weight, powered by Jaguar Land Rover's 180PS Ingenium diesel engine providing 430Nm of torque."

That is some unbelievable capability. To explore the Land Rover Discovery Sport's capability for yourself. Come visit our team at Land Rover Southwest Houston for a test drive.
