In order to easily jump another car, you'll need to grab a few safety items first. In addition to the jumper cables, you'll need a wire brush, safety glasses, and a pair of good work gloves. Bring the cars head-to-head, turn off the car lights and engine and open the hood to both vehicles. Use the wire brush to clean off the terminals to each battery to create a better contact point.
Take the red jumper cable and attach one end to the positive on the good then bad battery. Take the black cable and place on good battery negative end, then any metal surface on the car needing to be jumped. Start the car, let run a few minutes, rev the motor, then try starting the other car. It might take a few tries. Then remove cables in the opposite way they were used.
Bring the vehicle to the auto service facility here at Land Rover Southwest Houston as soon as it is running so you don't get stuck in this situation again.
